What is the history behind Valaveta?<\/h4>\n

Valaveta was created in 2020, it is a studio of textile design, experimentation and unique objects in which creativity is merged with tradition.<\/p>\n

It was born naturally and you could say spontaneously, I have no studies related to textile design or interior design, all the knowledge I acquired was self-taught and related to courses taught by other artists, designers and artisans.<\/p>\n

The base of the fabric is quite common regardless of its tools, I just gave it the shape and purpose I wanted.<\/p>\n

I must highlight that a great trigger for Valaveta was knowing that my great-grandmother and my grandmother wove in the family home, with their own loom, and that now I keep pieces and material that belonged to them.<\/p>\n

\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la historia de tu proyecto?<\/span><\/em><\/h4>\n

Valaveta fue creado en 2020, es un estudio de dise\u00f1o textil, experimentaci\u00f3n y objetos singulares en el que se fusiona la creatividad con la tradici\u00f3n.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Naci\u00f3 de forma natural y se podr\u00eda decir espont\u00e1nea, no tengo estudios relacionados con el dise\u00f1o textil ni el dise\u00f1o de interiores, todos los conocimientos que adquir\u00ed fueron de forma autodidacta y relacionados con cursos impartidos por otros artistas, dise\u00f1adores y artesanos.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

La base del tejido es bastante com\u00fan independientemente de sus herramientas, yo solo le d\u00ed forma y la finalidad que quer\u00eda.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Debo resaltar que un gran detonante de Valaveta fue saber que mi bisabuela y mi abuela tej\u00edan en la casa familiar, con su propio telar, y que ahora conservo piezas y material que les pertenec\u00edan a ellas.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

What’s your inspiration?<\/h4>\n

The inspiration comes from multiple sources, I think that everything we perceive can be an influence, but I would highlight Galician folklore itself; the design in multiple locations (Galician, Central European…) and aspects; the natural environment with its stunning stone formations; architecture, especially the brutalist movement and the Bauhaus.<\/p>\n

In my area specifically, I admire figures like Anni Albers, Magdalena Abakanowicz or Teresa Lanceta and a lot of inspiration from the pure and simple beauty of Japanese fabrics.<\/p>\n

\u00bfDe donde viene tu inspiraci\u00f3n? <\/span><\/em><\/h4>\n

Extraigo la inspiraci\u00f3n de m\u00faltiples fuentes, creo que todo lo que percibimos puede ser una influencia, pero yo destacar\u00eda el propio folklore gallego; el dise\u00f1o en m\u00faltiples localizaciones (gallega, centroeuropea…) y vertientes; el entorno natural con sus impresionantes formaciones p\u00e9treas; arquitectura, especialmente el movimiento brutalista y la Bauhaus.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I feel very safe and connected with the new series of pieces that I am currently creating in the studio, based on the concept of the “Third Landscape”. A variety of lithic pieces, dressed in a custom-made fabric for each one.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator sep_color=”” uncode_shortcode_id=”152937″][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”317937″]Las piezas creadas en Valaveta son singulares y \u00fanicas, por c\u00f3mo se plasma la idea en el telar de una forma muy fluida pero improvisada, o por c\u00f3mo esa pieza ya tejida culmina un objeto de forma muy natural.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Me siento muy segura y conectada con la nueva serie de piezas que estoy creando actualmente en el estudio, basadas en el concepto de la “Tercer Paisaje”.
